Cheyenne Electric, Inc. is available to consult with you regarding energy saving solutions for your organization/commercial properties. We will do a full lighting analysis of any or all of your locations.
Cheyenne Electric, Inc. uses the latest available technology in the design and installation of your lighting systems. We can install or retrofit your existing lighting system to use up to 50 percent less electricity while providing a better illumination of light. We can even save you money in your warehouse by replacing “energy hog” hi-bay gas fixtures with hi-bay T5 and T8 fluorescent lighting systems. Bottom line: better illumination at a lower cost of energy!
Here are some more reasons to upgrade your facility to energy efficient lighting:

  • Longer life on lamps & ballasts – lower maintenance costs.
  • Multiple (4-6) lamps in hi-bay fluorescent fixtures vs. one lamp in hi-bay gas fixture – lower maintenance costs (warehouse)
  • Energy efficient electronic ballasts run cool 24/7 vs. magnetic or gas ballasts which are extremely hot – savings on cooling costs.
  • Labor & material payback usually in 18 to 24 months.
  • Worth mentioning again, better lighting with a savings up to 50%!

Here is a sample of the incredible savings we were able to offer customers using this program:

Big 5 Tire, All 3 Longview Locations

The Longview Chamber Launches MyTown MyJob MyVoice Campaign

The Longview Chamber is proud to be part of the titled My Town My Job My Voice campaign to defend the oil and gas industry in east Texas and across the U.S. Last fall, when the Business Advocacy team was developing the organization’s public policy statements they asked our members their opinion about supporting the development of local energy resources such as natural gas, oil and lignite. 100% of the members who answered the survey supported this statement. Therefore, when the MyTown MyJob MyVoice campaign came to our attention we fully embraced it.

The website, http://www.mytownmyjobmyvoice.com, aims to educate the public about the impact the oil and gas industry has on American communities, jobs and quality of life and provides an outlet for the public to speak out about their concerns and make a difference. Several Chambers of Commerce along the Gulf Coast are also involved in the effort. The campaign’s vision is that more chambers across the State of Texas and throughout the U.S. will join as well.

The My Town My Job My Voice campaign is designed to unite businesses and organizations affected by the current regulatory and public pressures on the oil and gas industry. The campaign speaks for groups beyond petrochemical and refining companies. Every industry from medicine to air-conditioning to hospitality services is impacted.

Increased Tax Placed on Oil Companies as a Result of Recent Oil Spill

On 5/28, the House passed the American Jobs and Closing Tax Loopholes Act (H.R. 4213). The bill contains several environmental provisions, including one that would extend the energy efficiency home credit, which encourages the construction of homes that use 50 percent less heating and cooling. In response to the Gulf Coast oil spill, the legislation also includes a new provision to increase the amount available in the Oil Spill Liability Trust Fund to cover individuals, businesses and governments for damages resulting from an oil spill. The funds would come from raising the tax on oil companies from 8 cents per barrel to 34 cents per barrel. NRDC worked successfully to keep several tax credits for dirty energy out of the bill, including one for liquid coal and another for a costly subsidy to conventional corn ethanol. The Senate will take up the bill after the Memorial Day recess.

Do you agree with the increased tax on Oil Companies? Do you think our Federal Government will ensure that BP pays for the clean as promised by the CEO of BP?
